ANOTHER strong Pershore display helped them take second place in a Solihull junior trophy gala.

They bagged 213 points to beat Rugby, Camp Hill, Perry Beeches and Solihull ‘B’ with the hosts’ ‘A’ team winning with 248.

Pershore recorded 13 first places with 11 individual wins along with personal bests and several competitive debuts.

Megan Annis won the 10 and under 50-metre breaststroke in 46.91 seconds and also in the 25m butterfly in 18.63.

Rebecca Phillips triumphed in the 10 and under 50m backstroke in 44.56.

In the 11 and under 50m backstroke, Naomi Marsden won in 39.18 and Simon Sweatman won in 36.88.

Sweatman made it a hattrick of victories in the 11 and under and 12 and under 50m freestyles.

William Gearey won the 10 and under 25m butterfly in 17.77 and the 50m freestyle in 33.10, while Josh Sharratt took the 11 and under 50m butterfly.

There were firsts in the relays for the 11 and under 4x25m medley team of Sweatman, Chris Vizard, Sharratt and Tom Bailey and the 4x25m freestyle relay with Gearey replacing Sharratt.

Pershore produced 10 seconds and nine thirds through the likes of Jasmine Franks, Cameron Leach, Holly Winkley and Luke Betteridge.
