THE second day of the famous Cheltenham Festival has just produced this year’s first Cotswold race winner.

The New One showed heart and class to take the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ five-year-old (7-2) was given a fine ride by the Naunton trainer’s son Sam to defeat Rule The World by four lengths.

Pont Alexandre, the 6-4 favourite from Willie Mullins’ stable, finished third.
