BADSEY continued their fine form with a comprehensive 8-2 demolition of a young Stourport thirds team in Worcestershire League Division One.

They dominated from the start with Kay Amphlett, player-of-the-match Laura Moore and Shelly Banner distributing the ball well from midfield.

Sarah Rickey deflected a Fi Jordan short-corner strike past the goalkeeper to put Badsey ahead and then crossed for Karen Robinson to extend the lead.

The hosts pulled a goal back from a short corner but Robinson restored the twogoal advantage and then made it four with a sweet strike.

However, a determined Stourport reduced the deficit again when goalkeeper Zoe Hodgkins was wrong-footed by a deflection.

In the second-half, Badsey upped their game as forwards Robinson and Lynne Ellarby caused all sorts of trouble.

A fifth goal arrived through Robinson and Rickey then ran into the circle before slipping the ball calmly past the goalkeeper.

Ellarby and captain Robinson’s fifth goal completed the scoring.

Fifth-placed Badsey have a final rearranged league game to play after Easter and their club tournament will be on Sunday, May 12.

  • Champions Bretforton drew 2-2 at big rivals Leominster in the West Clubs Women’s League North Division.

Leominster snatched an early goal and scored a second after Bret failed to clear their lines from a short corner.

The visitors forced their way back into the game in the second period when Lisa Workman dribbled through and passed for Sarah Hall to touch across the line.

Bret were the better side by now but it still took plenty of huffing and puffing to equalise.

Player-of-the-match Sue Headington found the back of the net with one of her trademark thunderbolts from a short-corner routine to grab a point for her side.

Bret complete their campaign at home to fourthplaced Bristol University seconds on Saturday at Evesham High School (10.30am).
