Race win seees Mike fourth in standings

MIKE Tustin is fourth in the Thundersport GB Championship after a promising opening two rounds at Brands Hatch.

The Evesham race ace, who will also contest East Midland Racing Association Championship honours for Team MTR, won one race out of four in Kent.

On a damp, dreary day, Tustin qualified on the front row in fourth and managed second place, three seconds behind race winner David Brook.

The Vale rider won the second race after regaining the lead from Tim Daisley with three corners left to open up a half-a-second lead.

The second round in worse conditions was not as successful with Tustin dropping to seventh after starting from third and making the wrong tyre choice.

He overcooked the fast Surtees bend in the final race when in second spot and ended up in the gravel.

The next rounds are on March 31 and April 1 at Donington Park.
