THE Ambassador Evesham League Under 16s Cup semifinal between Broadway United Youth and Pershore Town Falcons produced an explosive second-half.

After going in goalless at half-time, Pershore were reduced to 10 men for a second caution and hosts Broadway took full advantage with an 8-0 win to book their place in the final on April 27.

Pool ‘B’ strugglers Bidford Juniors celebrated their first victory of the season with an emphatic 5-1 home win over Welford Juniors.

The under 15s division saw plenty of goals as leaders Tewkesbury Town Colts kept up their 100 per cent away record with a comfortable 3-0 success at Bidford Juniors.

Alveston stay second following a 3-0 win at home to Broadway United Youth, while Crowle edged a thriller against Ilmington 4-2 and Badsey Rangers went goal crazy at Welland Juniors Colts, triumphing 7-1.

The Under 13s Cup quarterfinal between Pershore Town Phoenix and Malvern Town Wanderers was a cracker, with the former side edging it 3-2.

The 6ft 6ins target man has caught the eye of higherlevel suitors following his FA Cup exploits against Liverpool and Everton for Oldham Athletic when he scored four goals.

The 23-year-old, who has only been a professional for two seasons, is also being monitored by Scotland. The striker is eligible through father Ian who played for Birmingham City during his own career.

  • Former Evesham United ace David Accam is in the Ghana squad for a World Cup qualifier.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who now plays for Swedish side Helsingborgs, is one of four debutants called up to face Sudan on March 24.

Accam was part of the Evesham team during their Southern League Premier Division campaign in 2010-11 along with fellow Ghanaians Isaac Shaze and Sam Mensah.
