THE monthly shoot at Childswickham Gun Club was for the Norman Morgan Trophy.
President Morgan, now living in the Cheltenham area, was one of the founder members of the club in 1964 and celebrated his 100th birthday this year. He retired from regular shooting seven years ago but still visits the club occasionally.
The shoot consisted of a 40- target sporting lay-out but members were required to use a side-by-side gun rather than the more popular overand- under version. Nigel Bussell scored 28-40 to win, then John Arnold (26-40).
High gun of the day was shared by regulars David Galbraith and Phil Clarke (33-40) ahead of Danny Andrews (31-40).
The next shoot is at Oldwell Farm on Sunday, August 25.
