SHIPSTON-on-Stour seconds were bundled out for 101 in an 80-run defeat at Cotswold Hills League Division Three promotion chasers Leek Wootton.
A familiar batting collapse means Shipston can still be dragged into the relegation zone if their rivals start winning.
Batting first, Leek started quickly thanks to Richard Swaffield who smashed 11 fours and three sixes in his 71 before Dave Pyne bowled him. Good bowling from Pyne (5-42) and Luke Canning (3-34) dragged the game back with the hosts slumping from 112-1 to 181 all out.
Shipston had 53 overs to reach their victory target but the scoreboard read 16-3 after seven overs.
Skipper Andy Righton (20) and Matthew Pratt (28) lifted them to 58-4 but the Leek bowlers kept a tight line.
Graeme Couchman took 4-1 from 5.1 overs.
