JAMES Calado claimed his first win of the season from pole position in the GP2 Series sprint race at Spa- Francorchamps.
The 24-year-old Cropthorne ace, who races for ART Grand Prix, built up an early lead in Belgium before Julian Leal pushed him all the way to the flag with Adrian Quaife-Hobbs right behind the pair.
Stefano Coletti held onto his lead in the drivers’ championship from Felipe Nasr by 135 points to 129 with Fabio Leimer closing in to 128 ahead of San Bird on 121, Calado on 111 and Marcus Ericsson on 82.
The next championship round is at Monza, Italy, from September 6 until 8.
