HOSTS Evesham United came from a goal down to book a FA Cup first qualifying round place with a 2-1 victory over a stubborn Bolehall Swifts side.
Second-half goals from Carl Brown and Marcus Palmer beat the Midland Combination Premier Division outfit who deservedly led at the interval.
Evesham now host rivals Stourbridge in the cup on Saturday, September 14.
Jared Wilson tested Bolehall goalkeeper Tom McNulty early on but the visitors bossed the rest of the half and grabbed the opening goal on 21 minutes through Chris Sturridge-Packer.
The introduction of Brown at the start of the second period livened things up for Shaun Cunnington’s side and within three minutes Evesham were level.
Brown’s pace created an opening which he finished himself with a fine shot.
Evesham’s winning goal arrived on 63 minutes.
Michael Tambling crossed for Palmer to notch his fourth goal of the season.
The better chances then fell to the hosts and debutant Lance Smith, a second-half substitute, had an effort disallowed for offside.
Evesham head to early Calor Southern League Division One South and West leaders Paulton Rovers on Saturday (3pm). Fans can reserve a coach seat for 10.30am from the Jubilee Stadium by calling Mike Peplow on 07889-011539.
