MARK Tyrrell leads the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club Championship GP 125cc class ahead of Sunday’s seventh round.
The Evesham ace topped the category in both races at the last meeting on his Chapman- Tyrrell Honda 125GP to establish a 21-point lead over Ricky Tarren. In Derbyshire, Tyrrell was third overall both times and then second in the lightweight class in two more races to go joint sixth in that category.
- Evesham’s Jones Dorling Racing and rider Ashley Beech endured a frustrating National Superstock Championship 10th round at Donington Park.
Two weeks after seventh place at Cadwell Park and a rider-of-the-weekend award, Beech crashed heavily during a wet practice session.
He slid off at more than 100 mph, suffering just bruising but his Kawasaki ZX-10R bike was not as lucky.
The team technicians worked to rebuild the machine but the front wheel seized in qualifying. Evesham’s Simon Andrews was 18th in the race.
