CHIPPING Norton men’s outdoor team are celebrating after being promoted for the second successive season to play in Oxford and District League Division Two.
The club also completed their outdoor finals which produced tight, competitive games.
Keith Field beat Stuart Davis 23-19 in a tense men’s singles final, while the pairs went to Len Macdonald and Davis who beat John Benfield and Des Boulton 19-8.
Carole Martin took the women’s singles 21-18 against Nicola Jones and she also won the triples with Mollie Bowlt and Davis.
The women’s pairs saw Roberta Jarvie and Sue Hagland defeat Rosemary Brooks and Nina Boulton 18- 17.
The two woods victor was Field over Martin 21-14 and he also bagged the John Quinn singles trophy 7-2, 8-7 against Bill Jarvie.
John Benfield, a one-time winner of many competitions at club and county level, defeated Field 21-11 in the over 60s final.
The drawn pairs went to Jeff Martin and Bill Jarvie against June Macdonald and Tony Backer Holst 21-18.
Married couples honours went to Carole and Jeff Martin, beating Nicola and Ken Jones 22-12, while the never won competition saw Len Macdonald defeat Roberta Jarvie 21-20.
