PRINCE Henry’s High School Under 15s are the new national Chance to Compete Cricket champions.
From a field of 400 who entered, it was the Evesham school who won the title at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.
In the semi-finals, Prince Henry’s comfortably defeated Sussex’s Warden School with a superb bowing and fielding display. They restricted the opposition to only 28 and comfortably reached their victory target with over three overs to spare.
In the final, they faced Woldgate School of Yorkshire.
Once again the bowling and fielding was superb with Matt Knight, Brent Mcomish, Michael Towey and Harry Bermingham putting on the pressure.
Woldgate were dismissed for 37 and, in reply, skipper Charlie Banning carried his bat throughout as victory was sealed with eight balls to spare.
