PERSHORE and Evesham look to boost disappointing league seasons in a Vale rugby derby on Saturday (2.15pm).

The hosts, two places and 11 points above their rivals, ran Cheltenham North close in a 28-27 Midlands Three West (South) defeat.

But second-from-bottom Evesham head to Mill Lane, Wyre Piddle, with only one league win all season and suffered a 29-7 home loss to new leaders Old Yardleians.

Meanwhile, Pershore and Pinley were cleared of a Rugby Football Union charge, which they both denied, after their league game was abandoned by the referee on October 26.

They were found not guilty of one charge of conduct prejudicial to the interest of the Union and the game contrary to Regulation 5.12 of the RFU Rules 2013-14 by causing their tie to be abandoned following acts of foul play involving both clubs.
