PERSHORE signed off for the Christmas break with a 5-3 victory over rivals Droitwich in West Midlands Hockey League Division Two.
Goalkeeper Metson kicked the ball into his own net following a strike to gift Droitwich an opening goal.
The hosts responded quickly with Anthony Handley converting from a short corner.
An own goal from the visitors made it 2-1 before Karl Lawson and Russell Scudamore linked for the latter to score with a deft reverse stick effort.
A long pass from Jake Doney allowed Lawson to extend Pershore’s lead in the second-half only for Droitwich to pull a goal back.
Russell McGettigan continued his fine scoring record with the fifth, after an excellent move down the right, before Pershore old boy David Hindle grabbed a third for the visitors.
