EVESHAM Jubilee Angling Society’s fur and feather match was held at their fishery with 44 anglers competing on all three pools.

There was a prize for every member who fished greater than their entrance fee and Stu Thomson, from peg 27 on the Jubilee, won on the straight lead with 53lbs 14oz.

Second with top weight on the Withies pool was Phil Seedhouse from peg 35 with 32-7, just beating Gary Johns’ 30-13 from 25. Alan Neal (27- 0) and Steve Rogers (15-0) followed.

Section winners were Shaun Sawyer (12-9) on Phil’s pool, Chris Martin (15-0), Richard Ford (10-3), Ian Pitman (10-0) and Rob Holloway (3-8).

  • Evesham Youth AC fished the Tingle Canal Series first round at Lapworth.

Chairman Cyril Thomson drew the end peg and won the senior category.

Juniors: Owen Robinson 1-0, Jordan Holloway 0-14, Harry Stephenson 0-6; seniors: Thompson 1-3-8, Daryl Aylett 0-8- 4, Andy Holloway 0-7.

  • Evesham and District Angling Association fished the second round of their winter pairs match on the Common Road and Town waters.

The Common Road waters dominated with bream and Howard Kay won convincingly with 33-0 from peg nine. Steve Hemming (peg 10, 13-3) and Aide Icke (peg 11, 12-3) followed.

Pairs points: Steve Pierpoint and Gary Seadon 4, Ian Jennings and Icke 5, Steve Parrott and Steve Pallet 7.

  • Mart Woods caught 37-11 of carp and F1s on the pellet and paste to win the first round of the Evesham WMC winter league at Drakes Broughton.

Mick Brooks used the same method to land 19-7 and Mark Sparrow had a total of 13-7.

Section winners were Vic Woods (10-1) and Jed Bott (7- 15).
