PERSHORE Rugby Club progressed in the RFU Midlands Senior Vase third round by beating Yardley and District 31-25.

The game had to be rearranged until just before Christmas after the original fixture was postponed due to traffic problems for the visitors.

Pershore now await their quarter-final date and draw.

The Wyre Piddle-based side’s next Midlands Three West (South) game is on Saturday, January 4, at secondplaced Old Wheatleyans.

They are fourth-from-bottom in the table with Evesham propping up the division, four points behind local rivals Shipston-on- Stour.

On January 4, Evesham host mid-table Cheltenham North and Shipston head to title-chasing Ledbury.

  • Badsey United lost 3-0 at Southam United Reserves in Stratford Football Alliance Division One.
