Harriers handed boost to drop fears

ANCHOR Harriers eased their Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Three relegation fears.

Having found life difficult after promotion, Harriers enjoyed a 3-1 victory over struggling Dragons with Quantrell (2) and Crenan scoring and Wilsdon replying.

Broadway United Reserves moved out of the relegation zone, winning 2-1 at Ashton thanks to goals from Berryman and Brandon Parker.

Ecosamba maintained their promotion hopes, defeating Elmley Castle 3-0 with Barton, Watts and Black on target.

Philpott’s double earned Harvington the Division Four points at Ambi Allsports, while Ambassador narrowed the gap at the top by winning 2-1 at promotion-rivals Tewkesbury Town Reserves.

Pershore High Old Boys closed on Division One leaders Pinvin United with a twogoal win over Bear through Taylor and Ridings.

Mickleton Rangers picked up a vital point at Fladbury Athletic from a 1-1 draw.

In the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup, Evesham WMC reached the last eight with a 3-0 victory at Golden Lion Athletic but Pinvin lost 3-2 at Ocean Designs.

In the Minor Cup, an Ed Major hat-trick helped Sun Inn reach the last eight at the expense of Bengeworth 9-3.

Cidermill put their poor league form to one side and beat Pebworth 2-1.

Stour Excelsior accounted for Evesham United Harriers 4-0, while Bredon and Alderton progressed with wins over Inkberrow and Offenham Rovers respectively.
