RESURGENT Shipston-on- Stour continued their Midlands Three West (South) improvement with a 31-26 home win over Manor Park.
The second-from-bottom Cotswold side are now only two points off Kings Norton above them and nine ahead of basement boys Evesham.
Shipston visit secondplaced Old Wheatleyans on Saturday hoping to continue their upturn in form.
Heavy underfoot conditions at Mayo Road gave little indication for the free-flowing game ahead. Park led narrowly at half-time but Shipston surged 17-7 ahead with their second try from a fine close-range offload.
The hosts did not relinquish the lead in a gripping encounter and took their chances well throughout.
