WORCESTERSHIRE lost to the Netherlands and Derbyshire by six wickets and 126 runs respectively on their Abu Dhabi trip.

In the second T20 match of their tour against the Netherlands, the County won the toss and chose to bat in hot, sunny conditions.

Skipper Daryl Mitchell was out in the 18th over for a fine 69 from 56 ball as Worcestershire scored 127-8.

The openers reached 28 before Ben Cox was caught for seven and then Alexei Kervezee followed for eight.

Matt Pardoe went for a duck and Joe Leach managed 18 with opener Mitchell hanging on until the score read 109 with two overs left.

A further 18 runs boosted the total before Shaaiq Choudhry removed opener Ben Cooper for 11 while conceding 14 runs in a busy first over.

Chris Russell, playing his first game of the tour, dismissed Stephan Myburgh for just two.

However, Wesley Barresi and Logan van Beek added 48 quick-fire runs before Choudhry returned to take the wicket of the latter for 21.

Peter Borren was caught for 13 but wicketkeeper Barresi saw the Netherlands reach the target with 26 balls left and four wickets down, finishing on 65 not out from just 45 balls.

In the 50-over match with Derbyshire, Worcestershire's opponents blasted 342-9 with Charlie Morris taking 4-38.

The County then lost by 126 runs despite half-centuries from Tom Fell and Ross Whiteley.

They have back-to-back T20 matches against Derbyshire and New Zealand on Tuesday.
