PERSHORE have secured at least fourth position in Worcestershire Women's Hockey League Division One after beating local rivals Badsey 4-2.
The town can still finish third with a success at home to bottom-of-the-table Droitwich Spa on Saturday (noon).
At Evesham High School, hosts Badsey went ahead inside the first 10 minutes but Pershore struck back quickly through Kate Adams and Emma Gardner.
Badsey pressed hard but were denied by in-form keeper Cat Pinney until they clawed a goal back in the second-half.
But the villagers' spirits were soon dampened when a quick break saw Adams find Mary Small, who slammed the ball home.
A short-corner strike from Ceri Barber sealed Pershore's win.
