CHRIS Hart has swapped Aviva Premiership champions Northampton Saints for life in the Championship with Warriors after agreeing to become the Sixways club's new head of strength and conditioning.

Worcester's high performance director Nick Johnston revealed his former Franklin's Gardens coaching colleague would be making the switch in your Worcester News last month and it has now been confirmed Hart, who spent six years as a conditioner at Saints, will oversee the strength and conditioning department at Sixways, and will be joined by fellow new recruits Will Whitney, Samuel Coe and Richard Westman, who will work as long-term athlete development coaches.

Hart said: “I am delighted to join Warriors and I am looking forward to working with the rest of the backroom team to develop a programme which will help players achieve their athletic potential.

“It is an exciting challenge to be involved in the project here and I will be aiming to implement a programme which will help move the players forward in terms of their athletic development.”

Hart joins strength and conditioning coaches Scott Pearson and Ryan Fisher and sports scientist Kyle Fisher in the department.

Johnston added: “It is a testament to the project we have started here that we were able to recruit somebody who was working with last season’s Aviva Premiership winners. “Chris is very experienced in his area of expertise and will bring an extensive knowledge from his time with Northampton.

“By ensuring we have an effective set-up behind the scenes, we are confident that we will see the results on the pitch when the new season begins.”
