SEDGEBERROW swimmer Harry Ackland is off to pursue his studies and sport in the USA at Louisiana State University.
The teenager starts in August after being awarded a scholarship as a swimming athlete but will also study at the business school.
After winning the under 18s junior 100m breaststroke at the British Gas Championships in April in Glasgow, he considered a number of future options.
Ackland, who started swimming in Evesham, has been studying in Plymouth for the last seven years and completing his A-levels while competing at national level and representing Great Britain juniors.
University head coach Dave Geyer said “We are excited to bring Harry over to the States to be a part of the Louisiana State swimming and diving programme.
"Getting to know Harry over the past few months and observing his races, we know we are getting a fine, young man who will develop and make a large impact."
