THE Wildmoor Spa Men's Tennis League's penultimate week saw many promotion and relegation issues decided.

Evesham beat relegation candidates Claverdon 3-1 and went four points clear of Ardencote Manor in second spot behind champions Stratford.

Littleton were dragged into danger and only one point from the drop when they were surprisingly turned over 3-1 by relegated Inkberrow.

In Division One, Studley 'A' confirmed promotion as champions, celebrating with a 3-1 win over relegation-threatened Aston Cantlow.

Shipston-on-Stour surprised fourth-placed Snitterfield 3-1 to go one point clear of the drop.

However, the battle for the second promotion place saw Studley 'B' beat Pershore 3-1 to swap places.

Whitnash closed to within two points of leaders Moreton-in-Marsh 'A' in Division Two as the Leamington outfit beat relegated Claverdon 'B' 4-0.

Moreton could only manage a 3-1 win over third-placed Stratford 'B' but were promoted along with Whitnash.

Bidford 'A' went down heavily 4-0 to HDA 'B' and sit only one point clear of the second relegation spot occupied by Alcester 'B' .

Ardencote Manor 'B' were crowned Division Three champions after a 4-0 victory over relegated Ilmington.

Wildmoor Spa 'A' moved to safety by claiming two invaluable points in a 2-2 draw with bottom-of-the-table Chipping Campden 'B'.

Inkberrow 'B' almost blew their chance of promotion as challengers FISSC took a shock 4-0 win and only missed out on going up on sets difference as both finished with 21 points.

Division Four is still wide open as only two points separate five teams near the top.

The only things decided with one week to go were the two relegation places with Littleton 'B' already adrift on 14 points and Chipping Campden 'C' rooted to the bottom with only four.

The basement boys were beaten 3-1 by Claverdon 'C', while the top two teams, Alcester 'C' and Henley 'B', drew 2-2.

Snitterfield 'B' took advantage to go joint second on 28 points with Henley 'B' after beating Littleton 'B' 3-1.

While the Division Five championship was undecided with Pershore 'B' and HDA 'B' Redditch on 35 points, both were confirmed as promoted.

Pershore 'B' were held 2-2 by fourth-placed Moreton-in-Marsh 'B' but kept the lead over HDA 'B' on sets difference.

HDA 'B' managed a 3-1 victory over mid-table Bidford 'B' and Inkberrow 'C' defeated Wildmoor 'B' 3-1.
