EVESHAM'S Rhiannon Donnahey is one of 1,600 youngsters competing at the Sainsbury’s School Games.
The 17-year-old Prince Henry's High School pupil will represent England Midlands in the rugby sevens.
Twelve sports are being contested from September 4 until 7 in Manchester.
The event is being supported by National Lottery funding from Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust.
Donnahey will get a taste of the pressure and excitement of competing at the highest level.
She will experience an athletes' village, take part in opening and closing ceremonies and perform in front of a crowd of thousands.
Donnahey, who plays youth rugby for Worcester, said: “I’m really excited and looking forward to the opportunity of playing at a higher level at the games.
"My main aim is to perform at my best and help my team do well in the competition.”
