WORCESTERSHIRE League Division One champions Worcester can win the title by a new record margin on Saturday.

They again put in an efficient display in beating Belbroughton by seven wickets with almost 15 overs left despite 88 from Will Pardoe.

Worcester stretched their lead at the top to 70 points and need a win at home to relegation-threatened Bromyard to set the record before their rise to the Birmingham League.

Pershore are still second after defeat in a crucial match at Bromyard when the hosts had to win.

Overseas star Ulrich Boshoff scored 103 but Pershore were restricted to 217 on the small ground.

Bromyard’s run-machine at last got into gear with Josh Tongue and Ash Bullock’s third-wicket stand of 163 carrying them across the line with more than 11 overs left.

Worcester Nomads are still third after a nervy 10-run victory on a soft pitch at Hagley and Colwall are fourth following a crushing win at home to Redditch thanks to 120 from Tom Coleman.

Droitwich lost to Pedmore and basement boys Evesham were relegated following defeat by third-from-bottom Harvington, who have a real chance of survival as Bromyard face yet another must-win game at Worcester.

On Saturday, Harvington host Hagley and Droitwich travel to Redditch when the losers could drop down if their rivals win.

Division Two champions Burghill and Tillington won for the 15th time in 18 games completed at home to Wormelow.

Having posted 326-5 in 50 overs, the hosts had to wait until a last-over hat-trick from James Burston to ensure victory as the visitors were all out from the final ball on 320 which included Tom Boulter’s 115.

Bewdley and Oldswinford both recorded easy wins against Rushwick and Coombs Wood respectively.

Worcester Dominies again provided a high-scoring match with Jon Hancock making 147 as they beat Lye’s 316 with three balls left.

Bewdley stay second with Dominies eight points back and Oldswinford another eight behind.

Enville beat relegated Malvern and Feckenham lost to Cookley.

In Saturday’s final games, Bewdley are at Wormelow, Oldswinford entertain Enville and Dominies host Burghill.

Division Three leaders Harborne thirds thrashed eight-man Cleobury Mortimer.

Stourport recovered to beat Alvechurch and Hopwood and stay 10 points back in second.

Bredon remained 17 points back in a confirmed third place after they beat Netherton with Tim McVicker scoring 100.

Alveley beat Old Vigornians but are still relegated along with Tenbury as Chaddesley Corbett beat the bottom side by nine wickets.

Ross-on-Wye piled up 341-7 with James Tiffen making 182 but he was on the losing side as Avoncroft compiled their winning total.

Division Four champions Bartestree and Lugwardine received the winners’ trophy at Martley after they gathered the necessary bowling bonus points but lost by 95 runs.

Himbleton are second, beating Himley thirds thanks to an all-round Dan Brace display, while Claverley’s Jamie Greenwood’s 7-22 was too good for Bromsgrove thirds.
