LITTLETON lead Midland Football League Division One by four points after a fine 4-0 win at Atherstone Town.

They dominated early on and Luke Rowlands broke down the left and beat two defenders but his shot was smothered by the keeper on 12 minutes.

Littleton forced six corners in the first quarter-of-an-hour before Atherstone's Darren Eggleton volleyed over from eight yards at the other end.

Will Gayton had a shot saved for the visitors, who then faced 10 men after a second yellow card saw Atherstone's Simeon Smith sent off on 50 minutes.

Callum Clarke was injured in the tackle but his replacement James Schembri opened the scoring on 56 minutes with a volley from Rowlands' nod-on.

Atherstone pushed forward but left gaps at the back and Littleton's Jamie Clarke caused chaos.

Stuart Hall fired home their second goal five minutes from time before Robbie Bunn added two late strikes.

Littleton host Cadbury Athletic on Saturday (3pm).
