CHIPPING Campden were inspired to a 3-0 win at Stroud seconds in West Clubs Women’s Hockey League Severn Division Two by player-of-the-match Jo Peachey.

The visitors were solid in defence with Sam Edmunds, Sarah Edmunds and Helen Donnelly protecting keeper Amy Day.

Campden had efforts from Sally Beale and Sarah Green saved in a frustrating goalless first-half.

After pressure from Charlotte Styles on the right wing, Campden were awarded a short corner.

Peachey stepped up from sweeper position and converted the opportunity after Green’s shot rebounded into her path.

After patiently waiting for the opener, Campden had the feel-good factor and another goal soon followed.

Captain Lucy Ford intercepted a clearance to set up Kerry Jackson for a fierce shot that doubled the lead.

Peachey then steamrollered through the centre of the pitch and set Jackson up for a tap-in to seal the victory.

Campden play Cirencester thirds on Saturday at Evesham High School at noon.
