THE Jubilee Fishery winter league first round took place on the Jubilee and Withies pools.

Steve Foster won the match from Jubilee peg 27 with 44lbs 14oz in a tight finish from Phil Seedhouse, who landed 44-11 from Jubilee 17.

The Jubilee pool section went to Richard Ford from peg 14 with 41-15.

He also fished against Ian Pitman in the Fishery Knockout Cup final leg and took the trophy.

Section winners on the Withies pool were Dave Bowditch (40-10) and Bob Evans (38-0).

Nine-year-old Billy Pitman, the only junior fishing, beat many of the adults with 34-8.

On Sunday, Jubilee AS members travel to the parks section, pegs 154 to 192 of the Worcester canal, with an 8.30am draw.

Meanwhile, the first round of Evesham WMC’s Andy Bird Shield was close with Graham Williams winning with 28-8 of carp and F1s short on the pole and pellet.

Bryan Townley caught 28-4 and Mart Woods 27-6.

Section winners were Rick Huxley (26-4) and Mark Sparrow (26-8).
