LITHUANIAN centre Donatas Visockis has left Worcester Wolves by mutual consent.

The 28-year-old joined the British Basketball League club in the summer and has been involved in six games.

Visockis has been sidelined with an ankle injury of late but director of basketball Paul James admits the 6ft 10ins player was struggling to adapt to Wolves' style of play.

“Donatas and I sat down to discuss his playing situation and it was clear that we were not thinking the same way," he said.

“It was, therefore, decided between the both of us that it would be best that we part company.

“I would like to thank Donatas for his efforts while with us and wish him all the best for the future.”

Visockis' departure now leaves Wolves with just one recognised centre in American Robert Thurman, although Jamal Williams, Kalil Irving and Remi Dibo can operate in the position.

James said he was looking for a replacement but no decision had yet been taken.

Wolves are currently second in the table, two points behind leaders Newcastle Eagles with eight wins from nine games.

They host Bristol Flyers on Friday and visit Glasgow Rocks on Sunday.
