EVESHAM under 16s lost an entertaining clash 22-10 at home to Shipston-on-Stour.
Poor tackling allowed the visitors to score two soft tries in the first 15 minutes.
But the defence tightened and the pack took control through player-of-the-match Josh Hartland.
Lewis Woodford, Eddie Howlett and Jack Richardson rucked well, while Marcus Harris and Lewis Cochrane controlled the line-out.
Either side of half-time, Evesham scored tries through James Thompson and Ryan Scarrott from a chip by Connor Armento. But two late scores from Shipston sealed the hosts’ fate.
Evesham under 14s lost 34-0 to Luctonians, while the under 13s deservedly won 44-12 at Old Halesonians.
Despite conceding an early try, the under 13s bounced back with five of their own in the first half.
Evesham added three more efforts in the second period.
Toby Turner (3), Jake Smith (3), James Costall and Matty Farrell scored tries.
Farrell and Smith added a conversion each.
