LITTLETON Positives became the first team of the Evesham and District Association Specsavers Division One season to avoid defeat against Kington Blades.

Positives’ Nick Mytton fought his way to three wins and then secured a 5-5 draw via a doubles victory with Doug Payne.

Blades’ John Price took Mytton to five sets and the latter also came back from 2-1 down to beat Alan Cotton.

Littleton Clubs are the new leaders but Kington Blades have a game in hand.

Clubs’ Dave Harvey is the only player in the division with a 100 per cent record.

Littleton Cobras ended a long series of defeats with a battling 5-5 draw against Wallace House Hussars. Cobras’ Craig Witheford continues to impress in his first season in the division with three wins, including a five-set thriller with Luke Moffat.

Improving Bengeworth Purple beat Littleton Cobras 7-3 and drew 5-5 with Kington Bulldogs.

Bulldogs’ Andrew Smith was player-of-the-match with three wins but Purple’s Richard McGhee and Dougie Allan turned around a 2-1 doubles deficit to grab a draw.
