ARGENTINE duo Agustin Creevy and Leonardo Senatore are set to make their first appearances of the season for Worcester Warriors in Saturday’s home B&I Cup clash against Nottingham (2pm).

Pumas skipper and hooker Creevy and back row Senatore are yet to feature for the Sixways club this term due to international commitments.

They were part of Argentina’s team in September and October before heading off again last month for their country’s three Autumn internationals.

But they are back at Sixways and poised to be named in a strong Warriors team for the Pool Three encounter.

Chris Pennell and Jonathan Thomas are also expected to return as Worcester go in search of a victory to secure a home match in the quarter-finals.

Head coach Carl Hogg said: “It’s essential to get Gus and Leo into the group because they have been away but we’ve also got to be respectful of the people that have played prior to their arrival. It’s key that we get the balance with that.

“It’s great to have them back.

“It’s like having two new players so we are delighted to welcome them back and they’ll both feature in the match.

“We want to keep the B&I Cup alive and get a home quarter-final but we’re also mindful that we’ve got an ‘A’ League fixture on Monday night that we want to qualify in as well.

“We’re also mindful that we’ve got a Championship fixture against London Scottish away a week on Saturday.

“With all things put in the mix we think this is the right selection for the weekend and the right selection going forward.

“Some of the more senior element will come back into the group on Saturday but last Friday was a huge indication of where we are,” added Hogg.

“The work ethic and team spirit was fantastic and those that are playing on Saturday have got the responsibility to raise the bar.

“We are coming back to pretty much our Championship group at the weekend, they haven’t played for two or three weeks so they’ll have to find their feet quickly and early.”

Warriors won 23-18 at Munster ‘A’ in Cork last Friday to book their place in the last eight with a match to spare.

Hogg said: “We’d love to win against Nottingham and get home a game in the B&I Cup, that’s really key for us. We have ambitions within the cup competitions so that’s vital.

“We’ve put ourselves in a very strong position to go forward and we want to reward our fans with a home match.”

Tighthead prop Rob O’Donnell has been ruled out of the Nottingham match due to concussion regulations following a head injury against Munster.
