PERSHORE picked up their third trophy of the season at the Gavin Tipper Memorial Gala in Bromsgrove.

They saw off Kingsbury (253), Stourbridge (222) and Redditch (167) among others to win with 293 points.

Head coach Tom Naughton said: “The gala was an opportunity for several new swimmers to get a taste of competitive action.

“I was very impressed with how they all stepped up and handled the pressure.

“2014 has been a record-breaking year for the club and winning another trophy is a great way to end it.”

They should send a record number of swimmers to Mar-ch’s county championships.

Amy Cooper brought home the first victory in Bromsgrove in the 13/u 50-metre butterfly in 35.17 seconds.

Luke Perry won the 12/u 50m backstroke (36.37) and 50m freestyle (32.56).

Kieran Cooper claimed the 11/u 25m breaststroke (20.91) and Megan Annis the 11/u 25m breaststroke (18.34).

The girls’ 9/u breaststroke team triumphed in one minute 44.58 seconds and Naomi Marsden bagged the 13/u 50m backstroke (35.38).

The boys’ 12/u 4x50m medley relay team also won (1.05.74).

Hamish Cross took the 11/u 25m freestyle (15.78), while Holly Winkley triumphed in 15.31 in the girls’ equivalent.

Hannah Woodcock won the 10/u 25m butterfly (16.94) and 25m backstroke (18.94).

Patrick Heeks took the 11/u 25m butterfly (16.59) and 25m backstroke (19.33), while Alexandra Barry led the 11/u 25m butterfly (16.21).

The boys’ 13/u 4x25m medley relay team also won in 1.07.14.

Jasmine Franks claimed the girls’ 10/u 25m freestyle (16.03) and 25m breaststroke (21.31).

Will Gearey took the 12/u 50m breaststroke (39.94) and 12/u 50m butterfly (32.87).

Isabella Woodcock won the girls’ 12/u 50m breaststroke (39.72) and the girls’ 9/u 4x25m backstroke relay team triumphed in 1.29.71. Isobel Cumming bagged the girls’ 12/u 50m freestyle (34.92).

The boys’ and girls’ 11/u 4x25m medley relay teams took golds in 1.12.13 and 1.11.34 respectively.

There were relay wins for the boys’ 11/u 4x25m (1.02.75) and the girls (1.03.13), the boys’ 12/u 4x25m (59.42) and the mixed cannon (2.38.25).
