THE Evesham and District Junior and Lower Division Championships were held at St Egwin’s School.

The Division Two open singles was won by Keith Ferguson, while Lynda Reid took the over-60s title.

In the junior events, Craig Witheford claimed both the boys’ under-18s and under-15s crowns.

Holly Bilsborrow picked up the girls’ under-18 and under-15 titles and Ben Robinson was the novice singles champion.

Meanwhile, Kington Blades retook the lead in Evesham and District Association Specsavers Division One with a 6-4 win over closest rivals Littleton Clubs.

Clubs’ Dave Harvey won three matches, continuing his unbeaten run this season.

But Blades’ Alan Cotton, Pete Dunnett and Gary Stewart each won their other two matches.

Bengeworth Purple had a 5-5 draw with Wallace House Hussars.

Hussars’ Luke Moffat earned his sixth player-of-the-match award this season with three wins.

Dougie Allan and Margaret Dignum claimed two each for Purple.

Moffat and Chris Dyson won the crucial doubles against Allan and Dignum.
