EVESHAM ladies played the annual Nora Olsen competition.

In a greensomes format, members played on temporary greens due to the cold weather.

Dinah Wood and Gill Smith scored 29 points to win and received the trophies from retiring ladies’ captain Enid Walker.

Meanwhile, 28 ladies played four-ball better-ball over 12 holes in the sun. Conryn Abbott and Mel Evans won with 32 points ahead of Anne Cowley and Eunice Allen (31).

The new ladies’ captain is Joan Hunt.

Meanwhile, 40 of The Vale seniors set out in awful conditions and only 13 made it all the way round.

Scores ranged from 29 points to three as Chris Enticknap won. Bernard Rayner, Gerry Clayton, Peter Richards and Derek Tigwell followed. Nearest the pin was Clayton.

Ladies’ 12-hole Canadian foursomes: 1 Pat Martin and Sandra Cornwell 24 points, 2 Jas Bishop and Imelda Stapleton 22, 3 Rosie Loh and Wendy Towers 21.

Winter Challenge Trophy fifth round: 1 Shona Rollins 16 points, 2 Sally Smith 14 (on count-back).

Broadway ladies’ winter stableford over 16 holes saw the Bronze Division’s Chris Parkinson win with 33 points.

Juliet Enderby was second with 31 ahead of Alison Hill (27).

In the Silver Division, Pat Righton triumphed with 32, followed by Veronica Rudd (29) and Liz Smith (28).

Broadway’s men’s penultimate round of their winter league was played in a greensomes format.

Phil Bennett and Neville Jelfs scored 41 points to leave Keith Burton and Jake Norman second with 39.

David Drinkwater and Brian Wright eased into third spot with 38 on count-back from Nigel Bird and Rob Lord.
