SHIPSTON-on-Stour driver Ben Fisher is ready to do battle in the Drift Cup this year.

The owner of Station Road Garage, Chipping Campden, gave his 1990 330-horsepower BMW E30 V8 a winter rebuild.

After modifications to the engine, steering and suspension, the car is ready for the British Drift Championship season ahead of the cup’s first round at Norfolk Arena, King’s Lynn, on May 9.

Fisher, 32, did pre-season testing at Throckmorton Airfield, near Pershore, and also supports Marc Huxley, 29, of Huxley Motorsport and Team Dark Horse.

Huxley takes on world-class drivers in the pro-am class of the British championship in his unique-looking 1977 Toyota Celica RA28.

The car has a 400-horsepower Nissan engine and heavily modified steering and suspension and was one of the most talked-about cars of 2014.

Huxley has his first round at Lydden Hill, Kent, on April 17 and 18.
