TEAMMTR’s Mike Tustin competed in rounds three and four of the Thundersport GB A&R Racing Pre-National Sport 600 class at Donington Park.
After qualifying eighth out of 50 riders in a wet session, the Evesham rider grabbed a well-deserved second place to feature on the podium for the first time in 18 months.
He had started averagely, however, and was unable to repeat the pace in the second race, finishing seventh with his front tyre struggling.
With small suspension changes and fresh rubber, Tustin added another podium the next day with second in race three.
He finished just one second behind the leader, after starting from fourth on the grid.
A big downpour before the final race made life tricky and the Vale competitor fell off at the Coppice section of the track while in third place.
The next meeting is at Snetterton on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 2, 3 and 4.
