WILL Green helped secure Pershore a third consecutive Worcestershire Cricket League Division One victory.

The batsman scored 78 as the hosts passed Belbroughton’s 156 all out with 160-6 inside 36 overs to win by four wickets.

Added to victories over Colwall and Hagley, Pershore have moved up to third place and are only 18 points behind surprise unbeaten leaders Droitwich.

Matt Brace took 3-7 in five overs to end Belbroughton’s resistance after two wickets each for Lee Wilks, Darren Critcher and Taylor Pugh.

In reply, Pershore’s top four batsmen struggled, including ducks for Liam Ridings and Brace, but Green and skipper Chris Ridings (25 not out) came together for a crucial stand.

A winning weekend for Pershore saw the seconds triumph at Alvechurch and Hopwood and the thirds beat Droitwich fourths.

Bredon were back among the runs in Division Two, amassing 348-6 against fellow high-flyers Cookley.

Opener Martyn Draper scored 91, Jamie Munro 56, Tim McVicker 55 and Lee Diamond 46 but Cookley restricted them to a 17-point winning draw with 231-8 in reply.

Evesham collapsed to 90 all out in a seven-wicket home beating by Wormelow.

Skipper Ali Asghar (28) and Saqib Ali (14) were the only batsmen to reach double figures.

Harvington’s poor Division Four start continued with a four-wicket defeat at Barnards Green thirds in Division Four.

Trevor Knowles (58) and Pete Smith (43) did their best in Harvington’s 174 all out.

Division Six leaders Birlingham beat Highley by three wickets after passing 216-4 through Alex Clasen (78), Tim Clarke (47no) and Awais Zubair (32no).

Meanwhile, Dumbleton are second in the West of England Premier League Gloucester Division after a 78-run win over Lydney.

They set an imposing 307-7, fired by Scott Tremain (69), Adam Stuart (68), Ollie Forbes (59) and Parth Patel (57), before dismissing the visitors for 229.

Promoted Bidford-on-Avon have made a fine start in the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division to sit in third position.

They are behind leaders Shipston-on-Stour and second-placed Exhall and Wixford after beating Earlswood by 21 runs.

High-flying Ashton-under-Hill beat FISSC by six wickets in Division One.
