PERSHORE women won their third successive Midlands Ladies’ Touch League south-west tournament at Ross-on-Wye.

Winning all their matches means they are now one of the top four seeded teams going into the first of three Midlands Super Sundays with 16 teams from across the region.

At Ross, Pershore beat four season’s champions Bromyard 2-1 in the final.

Coach Alice Keylock said: “The ladies have such a positive, can-do approach to their game and are not afraid to try new things, make mistakes and learn from them. It is a pleasure to see how creative and expansive their game has become and the winning is a bonus.”

The Super Sunday tournaments, two in the summer and a final in the autumn, will decide the overall winners.

Pershore lead the south-west table with 30 points ahead of Bromyard (27), Redditch (23), Ross (19), Greyhounds (18), Luctonians (18), Berry Hill (11) and Bredon (4).

Emmie Bewley (4), Sue Breay (3), Teresa Crowley (5) and Verity Farr (3) scored tries at Ross, while Sarah Thomas was their player of the tournament.
