CHASTLETON racehorse trainer John Gallagher secured an 8-1 success at Goodwood on the Flat through Major Pusey.
The three-year-old left his challenge late in the Racing UK Day Pass Just 10 Handicap over five furlongs under Martin Lane, but held off Blackasyourhat (33/1) to score by one length.
Experienced 12-year-old Pigeon Island secured his 11th career win partnered by Naunton handler Nigel Twiston-Davies’ jockey son Sam at Ffos Las.
The 6-1 hope jumped to victory in the Bet toteexacta Handicap Chase in Wales by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
There was a Cotswold double at Uttoxeter through Bobble Emerald (6-1) and Highpower (9-1), trained by Condicote’s Martin Keighley and Temple Guiting’s Jonjo O’Neill respectively.
They both struck by just a neck in close finishes in the Signs 2000 Maiden Hurdle and the Golf Widows Handicap Hurdle.
