EVESHAM Bowling Club will host the south Worcestershire men’s gala day on Sunday.

Going for the Harold Haines Trophy are current holders Evesham, Aston Somerville, Bredon, Overbury and Pershore.

Bacon sandwiches and tea and coffee will be available from 9.30am, with games played every hour from 10am.

The raffle will be drawn after the final game, which finishes at 4.40pm, and the presentation is at 5pm.

Visitors and new members are always welcome to the club on the riverside in Blind Lane, Evesham, WR11 4LE, and parking is free.

Meanwhile, Littleton’s women did not play their game against Evesham in the return leg of the Concorde League because of rain.

But the men played at home to Evesham and won on four out of five rinks to triumph 102-95 overall, with Graham Norledge, Mike Mansell, Tony Ruff and Dave Turner claiming a 30-11 success.

In much better weather, the men took on Malvern Victoria in the Vernon Turner Worcestershire competition, with Littleton progressing to the next round after winning 86-59 with all four rinks taking victories.

Sponsors are needed for Littleton’s annual gala tournament on Sunday, July 5, and are asked to call 01386-830198.
