WORCESTER City go into tonight’s FA Cup second qualifying round replay with Holbeach United knowing that victory would line up a mouthwatering tie with National League North neighbours Solihull Moors in the next round.

But joint manager Carl Heeley insists he’s not looking at a possible trip up the M42.

Instead he is focusing on seeing off their midweek visitors from the United Counties League.

“We’re not looking at Solihull and, to be honest, I didn’t even look at the draw,” he said.

“We have a job to do against Holbeach and we can’t look any further than that.

"To do so would be showing them a lack of respect.

"As far as we’re concerned, our next game in the FA Cup is against Holbeach – it’s as simple as that.”

Worcester looked to have done enough to edge their way into the next round after Lee Hughes had given them a 70th minute lead only for home goalkeeper Ricky Drury to level deep in injury time with an audacious overhead kick.

Heeley added: “What’s important is that we are still in the competition. But we know we have to play a lot better if we are to get through.

“Ties like these are notoriously difficult. It was difficult to move the ball around on their pitch and Holbeach had nothing to lose.

“We also had a long journey down to their place – now they’ve got to make that journey on a Tuesday night.

“Sometimes it is difficult to impose league form on cup competitions but we still had too many players off their game on the day.”

The joint manager reported no fresh injury concerns following the match at Holbeach but admitted that City would again be without defender Tyler Weir.

He has been sidelined with a calf injury since the goalless draw at Stockport County at the start of the month.

“We were hoping to have him back by now but he tried to train last Thursday and it’s still not right,” Heeley added.

“It looks like he could be out until a week on Saturday.

"It is a blow losing him but injuries are part and parcel of the game.

“We could make changes for the replay but we have to factor in that we have another game on Friday night [at FC United] so most of the squad are likely to get a chance at some point.”
