EVESHAM ladies’ captain Conryn Abbott held her drive-in on a cool but dry morning.

Thirty-three ladies joined for bogey golf over 18 holes.

The Silver Division winners were Mel Evans and Ruth Masters with -6.

Marlene Billing (-1) was the overall victor and took the Bronze Division ahead of Sally Deakin (-4).

Topping the Copper Division was Sandy Install (-2) in front of Eunice Allen (-6).

Meanwhile, Steve Williams won Perdiswell Park’s Saturday medal in calmer conditions following waterlogging at the Worcester course.

Thirty-four players ventured out and, playing off a handicap of seven, Williams put a great round together to come out on top with a decent nett 64.

He carded 11 pars and three birdies and, but for double bogies on the first and last holes, his score could have been even better.

However, Williams, whose handicap was cut to six following his win, did enough to take the plaudits by three shots over nearest rival Dave Hancocks.

Playing off 21, Hancocks eked out a splendid 67 to take second place by just one shot.

Having been unable to play to podium golf standard of late, he secured his place with three pars and a birdie, which proved enough to claw back some of the shots he left out on the course.

Behind Hancocks there was a real fight for the remaining podium places with three players finishing on 68 and having to be separated by count-back.

Veteran Brian Hodgetts took third spot at the death as the 19-handicapper dropped in four pars.

His back nine nett score of 33 won him his third place over the battling 22-handicapper Bill Kelly, who managed a back nine of 34 in comparison.

Kelly recorded six pars but will rue the thee double bogies and a quadruple bogie on the way in.

On a glorious early spring morning, with a little frost still on the ground, 65 members of The Vale seniors played a three-ball stableford.

Each playing member made a donation to the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust.

Division One went to Nic Fielden with 12 handicap 35 points followed by Earle Andrews (14-35), Eric Salter (12-34) and John Eastoe (13-32).

Mick Lewis (15-39) won Division Two ahead of Mick Heard (16-37), Bob Haden (21-35) and Richard Browning (17-35).

Division Three was led by Bob Foster (26-36) in front of Brian Bunn (26-35), Norman Cannock (22-35) and Mike Spittle (22-34).

Nearest to the pin was Jonathon Hill on the fifth hole.
