NEW Evesham United striker Sam Pearson insists he’s not daunted by stepping up two tiers.

Pearson was on the books at Hereford-based Pegasus Juniors in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

He has been on trial with Hereford FC and played for hometown club Leominster Town.

“It’s a massive confidence boost that Evesham wanted to sign me and I’ve got the opportunity to play for them,” said Pearson, who has been among the goals in pre-season.

“It’s a lovely club and the manager and assistant manager are top blokes. The set-up is lovely and the pitch is great. Everyone at the club has been very welcoming.

“I think it’s going to be tough and a really hard season but hopefully we’ll do alright. Evesham did well last season and are hoping to do well again.

“I’m planning on getting into the side and playing some games.”

Pearson netted Hereford FC’s first ever goal in a friendly at Malvern Town last year while on trial.

Evesham will face the promoted Bulls in Southern League Division One South and West this season.

Pearson added: “If it doesn’t work out at Evesham, then I will go back to Pegasus Juniors because I love Peggy.”
