WORCESTER Wolves have signed up a new player ahead of the start of the British Basketball League season.

Andrew Bachman, a 6ft 6in guard-forward, arrives in Worcester straight from Tiffin College in America and rejoins former team-mate Ashton Khan.

Bachman, 22, said: "I am extremely excited to be joining Wolves.

"I have heard many good things about the club, coach James, the current roster of players and the level of fan appreciation.

“I am eager to get started and work hard in order to earn court-time as a first-year pro and do whatever I can to help make the team better."

Last season, Bachman attended NCAA2 Tiffin College where he averaged 11.2 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game, shooting 35 per cent from behind the three-point line and 80 per cent from the free-throw line.

Wolves head coach Paul James said he was pleased with the latest signing.

James said: “Andrew will bring more quality and competition to our guard positions and I like that.

"He is a talented player who reads the game well and scores in different ways, so I’m very happy that Andrew has decided to join our basketball programme.”

Wolves managing director Mick Donovan said: "As the new season approaches, we have been really happy with our recruitment so far and Andrew certainly strengthens the Wolves team we will be putting on the court."

Wolves will play two pre–season home games ahead of the regular season opener against Cheshire Phoenix.

The pre-season games will be played on Friday, September 16, against Sheffield Sharks and Monday, September 19, against Bristol Flyers.

Both games will tip off at 7.30pm and tickets can be purchased from the University of Worcester Arena box office online at ticketline.co.uk/worcester-wolves or by calling 0844 888 9991 or via the Ticketline mobile app.
