PAUL James believes Worcester Wolves have got “all the weapons” to trouble reigning champions Leicester Riders at Leicester Sports Arena tomorrow (4pm).

Riders finished 20 points clear of fourth-placed Wolves to clinch the 2015-16 BBL title alongside their Trophy triumph.

They are keen to repeat their double-winning season but head coach James feels his side, who will feature a string of new signings, can go toe-to-toe with them.

“We are not too worried about Leicester and what they can do,” he said. “We know if we take care of what we do we will be in the game. I don’t think it’s about closing the gap (on Leicester).

“It’s just about getting the mentality and the culture of the club right. I think we have got that.

“We are not going to play with any fear against anybody as we have got all the weapons we need.”

Riders retained many of their squad, including ex-GB captain Drew Sullivan and guard Tyler Bernardini. They signed forward Andy Thompson from Newcastle.

“Leicester have made a few changes but still have league veterans,” James said.

“They are going to play hard, up-tempo basketball but so are we.”

Wolves’ new American forward Deondre McWhorter was due to arrive in the UK today after a delay with his permit process.
