EVESHAM United boss Paul Collicutt believes Slimbridge will be a tough nut to crack in tomorrow's Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West clash at Thornhill Park (7.45pm).

The Robins are gunning for a sixth successive league win but Collicutt says a “dogged” and “organised” Slimbridge will be a tough proposition on their own patch.

In-form Evesham drew twice with the Swans last season - 0-0 away and 1-1 at the Jubilee Stadium.

Collicutt says his players will need to be fully focused for the task in hand.

“Slimbridge might be 14th in the table but they a very organised and dogged side and certainly not mugs,” said Collicutt.

“We won’t be taking them for granted. They won 2-1 at home to Salisbury earlier this month and are very hard to beat on their own patch.”

Sixth-placed Evesham came from behind to thrash Larkhall Athletic 5-1 last Saturday, while the Swans lost 3-1 at AFC Totton.

Lance Smith hit four goals against Larkhall but Collicutt said the striker has “acknowledged the outstanding service from the flanks”.

Collicutt added: “The service given to Lance has been second to none and he’s been in the right place at the right time.

"He’s got 13 goals now and we have set him a target for the season.

"If he can reach it, we won’t be too far away from our overall aim which is to get into the play-offs.”

Lewis Binns (college commitments) and Matt Sysum (work) are unavailable for trip so defender Will Wellon and goalkeeper Sam Gilder come into the Robins’ squad.
