PERSHORE Town drew 0-0 at Heath Hayes in Midland League Division One with a good, spirited performance that was deserving of more than one point.

Second-from-bottom Town were the better team in the first half with Reece Jacobs’ close-range shot well saved by Hayes’ keeper.

Richard Thomas-Robinson blasted a second-half opportunity over the bar when well positioned and Jacobs forced a good save.

From the resulting corner Dane Aldington’s header was cleared off the line.

As the game went on Hayes enjoyed more possession but Town’s defence held firm.

Premier Division leaders Alvechurch won 2-1 at fellow high-fliers Lye Town with Connor Deards and Michael Wardle scoring late goals.
