PERSHORE Tennis Centre's Bradley Smith won Wychavon’s recognition award for outstanding achievement in sports' sporting hero accolade.
A club spokesman said: “Bradley not only plays for Pershore men’s A team in all the local leagues but is also the men’s club doubles champion along with his team-mate, the club's head coach Steve Bauer.
"He also plays with club coach Mike Langston. Supporting Mike he helps with the junior team and has been chosen as a performance player of the future.
"As a result of this a future’s performance squad has been developed.
"Bradley continues to grow as a sportsman and coach, enabling others to learn from his experience.
"He has progressed enormously in the last year, helping the centre to shine as a club.
"When he isn’t on court, over 12 hours a week, he is either at the gym or at school he has also committed to undertaking tennis coaching courses and has gained his level two qualification.
"Bradley truly goes the extra mile and his dedication to the club is fantastic and his support with coaching is really appreciated as well as his passion for organising events such as Children In Need and other local community functions. He is a true sporting hero in our community.”
