PERSHORE Bowling Club ladies put up a brave display in an opening-day defeat in the Concorde League.
Evesham, the home team, were in great form and picked up a win in a closely-fought match against their experienced Worcestershire rivals.
It was a very cold afternoon but the Pershore team were in good spirits.
They are now looking forward to playing more matches in sunnier weather conditions as the new season gets into full swing.
